L5 - Trafic information25-11-2005
|
The traffic information consists of indicating the position of conflictual traffics as follows : - position = bearing (see below) and distance from the aircraft you are giving the information to.
- direction of flight. You can give : - the track or route of the traffic (expressed in degrees or according to geographical direction (northbound, northwestbound, westbound, etc...). - just a direction (left to right, or right to left) or indication (parallel route, opposite direction, same direction, overtaking). - level or altitude, and vertical movement if any. If your traffic is steady (not climbing nor descending), give the difference in feet (xxxx ft below, or xxxx ft above). If same altitude or level, just say same altitude or same level or through your level. If your traffic is climbing or descending, give the actual level or altitude of the other traffic. - type of aircraft, if known. You can say the name of the aircraft (B727, Bell 206, ATR 42 ...) or just the general type of aircraft (airliner, helicopter, turboprop...). You may also give some additional indications (fast, slow, unidentified, heavy).
In this example, what would you say to the black airplane? " ... (callsign), traffic 1 O'clock, 10 miles, northwestbound, 1000 ft above, climbing" " Traffic in sight, (callsign)". or "... (callsign), traffic 1 O'clock, 10 miles, track 300, Boeing 727, 1000 ft above climbing, ". "Boeing in sight, 1000 ft above (callsign)". And what would you say to the B727, mmmm?? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... " ... (callsign), traffic 10 to 11 O'clock, 10 miles, left to right, turboprop, steady FL 210".
