Basic RatingsBasic Ratings reflect the amount of practice that you have completed with IVAO. You cannot expect to learn to control or fly well simply from a training manual. You will learn a lot more by actually controlling/flying aircraft and seeing how to deal with a variety of situations. Students are welcome to control/fly any time, and anywhere at IVAO. You can also request online training from Training Instructors who can teach you the very basics of controlling or flying, or help you practice the requirements for your rating. While online, you can also ask anybody rated with Controller 1/Flight Captain or above for advice, as these people have passed tests demonstrating their ability. These ratings are given automatically the morning after sufficient time has been logged. After you have achieved Student 3/Captain by passing the first basic online exam testing your ability to use the online programs you can request your Controller 1/Flight Captain exam. It is sensible, therefore, to be thinking about practicing for your first exam (see controller requirements) when you have completed your Student 2/First Flight Officer requirements, and are working towards your Student 3/Captain.
