An applicant for the Instructor Rating is required to
1. be able to read, speak, write, and
understand the English language.
2. have satisfactorily accomplished
the required training and obtained the aeronautical experience
prescribed;
Instructor ratings are based upon the proven ability to teach and
examine all units.
Instructor ratings are given to Controllers who can and will teach
and examine Students and Controllers. To be considered for an Instructor
rating you must be very competent, and so must have and demonstrate the
abilities of a Controller 3.
The number of Instructors is limited by the number of Instructors IVAO
needs at any one given time. Each rating carries the warning that you
will be removed to a 'Controller 3', if you fail to give enough time to
train other controllers, since you cannot have an Instructor rating if
you do not instruct. You will be required to give a minimum of 4 hours
of training monthly, but it will be the TC/TACs or DIR/ADIR of each
Division who will evaluate if the Instructor is really working as
Instructor or not. Each Division will assign training assignments to the
Instructors of the Division and will verify the training was
conducted.
The Instructors will be able to do Practical
Exams if the Director of the Division approve it.
The Training Department is serious about this;
unless you give a specific reason for not honouring your hours (on
holiday, etc.), each Division Director can request to the Training
Director and you will be downgraded to Controller 3, and will be
required to re-take all the Instructor exams to return to your previous
grade. The HQ Training Department will check this on a random basis. As
an Instructor you will have the responsibility to provide members
training on their request and/or as directed by the
Division.
