As I know a lot of you are waiting for this page I'll do my best and have it finished as soon as possible,
but there is (currently) a lot of other issues which also are requiring attention !

This is a long story and will take time to be sure everything is there
I have therefore decided to write it in chapters so you not have to wait too much.

Chapter 1
My first years and startup of
IVAO.org - The International Virtual Aviation Organisation.

I have always had - and still have a big interest in aviation !

I had my first flying experience at the age of 7. My parents had their summer residence
about 1 km from a little Danish airfield - EKKL, so there was always a lot of gliders
and small single-engine airplanes in the air. One day we were up on a sightseeing flight
with me in the rightfront seat. Safely down the pilot asked me if I wanted to steer :-))))
I steered and steered....... I thought for many years, until I learned how you steer
a plane on the ground ;-)
Since then I have been hooked on flying !

Later, in the 80' when becoming soldier, I of course chose the Royal Danish Airforce.
I was placed in the
surveillance department on Bornholm (a small Danish island in The Baltic)
I here watched the radars which had a range long into Russia, Polen and East-Germany.
Quite interesting, with the ATC for the Danish fighters beside me !
Especially when the Russians made their training attacks - M2.2 straight in
and a 180 deg. turn just before reaching the NATO border.
Or when the SR-71 had their recon flights at M3.4......

In 1981, while I was in the Airforce, I got my first flightsimulator – FighterPilot,
which ran on a ZX Spectrum.

Later after leaving the Airforce, I got Flightsimulator ver. 2 which was my first
"real" flightsimulator.

When FS4 was released I had the opportunity to get a flight in KLM’s demo bus.
They had a truck where they had installed a PC, a captains seat and a big monitor
On this flightsimulator I landed at Kastrup, EKCH
The scenery used was much more detailed than the default scenery, which only consisted
of 3 runways.
I started a search to find the creator of the scenery – I liked to use it myself, and eventually
make the scenery even better.
Approximately a year later I found the guy in Sweden – got the scenery and the tool he used to create it.
The next many years I created sceneries for Kastrup, EKCH and Roskilde, EKRK.
These sceneries was – of course – released on AVSIM.

Then suddenly - Approximately 9 years ago – one day in AVSIM’s download library
Procontroller and Squawkbox was available.
As very interested in flightsimulation – and not less in controlling I of course instantly
downloaded both programs and was online every day.
I here helped newcomers and started to set up some guidelines for the use.
An American, Mr. Randy Whistler was faster than me and started up SATCO in which organization
I was managing the European part.
I had this position for a couple of years until they made some changed which I couldn’t agree on,
so I had to leave and start on my own !!

At that time SATCO also had a server in Belgium managed by Erwin Lion.
I decided to leave SATCO and start up my own organization. I allied with Erwin Lion
and we left SATCO and founded IVAO.org - The International Virtual Aviation Organization.

I started up IVAO.org - The International Virtual Aviation Organization based on sponsorship and donations.
I intended to use all available time, but did not wanted also to have expenses serving the flightsimulation community.
Secondly my economical resources was at that time very limited.
Erwin Lion was so kind that he not only provided the first server, but also sponsored the domain name
and he was registered as the billing contact for IVAO.org
(Added 29/11)
(This has of the 25. Nov. 2005 of course been changed - at the same time I changed DNS to regain
control of - at least - my website)
